Musketeer Solutions Ltd (Musketeer) and de Havilland Support Ltd (dHSL) are delighted to announce that they have jointly been awarded an extension to the contract to support the RAF’s Battle of Britain Flight (BBMF) Chipmunk aircraft.
dHSL (www.dhsupport.com) holds a Type Responsibility Agreement, under BCAR A5-1, from the Civil Aviation Authority for the DHC-1 Chipmunk and now, in partnership with Musketeer, they will continue to deliver Post Design Services (PDS) for the 2 Chipmunk T Mk 10 aircraft operated by the BBMF.
The original de Havilland Aircraft Company was established at Stag Lane, London, in 1920; de Havilland Support Ltd was founded in 2000 at Duxford, England, to take on design responsibility for the civil-certificated de Havilland types. Today, dHSL focuses on defect investigation, modification action, repair scheme design, and dissemination of technical data for the fleets of Tiger Moth, Chipmunk and Bulldog aircraft. The owner community totals well over 1,000 active aeroplanes of 15 types all over the world.
Musketeer was founded in 2005 and has become a respected name in the defence aerospace industry. Early endeavours included supporting prime aerospace providers, such as Northrop Grumman and Boeing with their work on major RAF platforms, but the Company has now diversified to provide aerospace consultancy and technical services to a wide range of customers. Conducting Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) analysis on the schedules of BBMF aircraft has been a major programme for a number of years, with the Chipmunk Maintenance Schedule Review being recently completed.
Musketeer looks forward to continuing its close cooperation with dHSL to provide Chipmunk PDS support services for the BBMF aircraft.
