Celebrating 20 Years of Musketeer Solutions – From Vision to Legacy

21st October 2025 marks 20 years of Musketeer Solutions Limited, a proud milestone for a family-run business that has grown from a small team of specialists into a trusted partner to the MOD, RAF, and wider defence community.

Founded in 2005, Musketeer has always stood for professionalism, integrity, and people-centred values, principles that continue to guide the company today.

“We felt there was an opportunity for an ethical company of professionals who would enjoy their work and have the customers’ best interests at heart.” Annie & Adrian Parrish

A Vision Rooted in Expertise and Ethics

Musketeer Solutions was founded during a period of military downsizing, when co-founders Annie and Adrian Parrish saw an opportunity to give back to the MOD and RAF by providing the engineering management expertise of highly qualified professionals.

Their vision was to build a company that valued its people as much as its performance, a workplace where every team member had a voice, and where flexibility, fairness, and ethical practice were central to everything they did.

Turning Vision into Reality

Adrian’s RAF engineering and management consulting experience for the MOD provided the foundation for Musketeer’s early growth. His vision, combined with Annie’s administration and financial skills, and a highly experienced technical team including Dave Moody, Richard James and Steve Welburn, established the company as a reliable and adaptable provider of engineering expertise to the defence sector.

“The mantra of ‘delighting our customer’ was something we strived for, even when it was not easy.”

By collaborating with like-minded small businesses and individuals who shared their work ethic, Musketeer built a trusted network based on teamwork and integrity, a hallmark of the company that remains just as strong today.

Early Challenges and Proud Beginnings

In the early years, Musketeer played a key role in addressing challenges across the MOD’s ageing aircraft fleets, supporting numerous Ageing Aircraft Audits and Condition Surveys on both fixed-wing and rotary platforms. The company also contributed to improvements in aviation safety regulations and supported aircraft disposal projects such as the Nimrod fleet at RAF Kinloss.

“These early projects gave us great satisfaction and pride.”

Growth, Development, and Adaptation

As Musketeer grew, so too did its capabilities and structure. The company achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation early on, a reflection of its commitment to quality, sustainability, and ethical working practices. By carefully recruiting its excellent specialist engineers, Musketeer developed its expertise in Reliability Centred Maintenance, Airworthiness Regulations, Project Management and Aircraft Technical Documentation.

Over the years Musketeer’s customers have included BAE Systems (Tornado), Raytheon (Sentinel), Northrop Grumman (Sentry), Marshall (Hercules), Boeing (Chinook), QinetiQ and the MOD. These endeavours cemented Musketeer’s reputation for technical excellence, reliability and professionalism. Change has been a constant throughout Musketeer’s history; the company continues to evolve to meet new customer needs, technologies, and working environments.

The appointment of Mark Hodge, Scott Wray, and Donna Wilkins as Executive Directors in 2021 strengthened the leadership team and ensured that Musketeer’s founding values continue to guide the next generation of Musketeers.

Family Business with Shared Values

“We see our people as an extended family and greatly appreciate the benefits they bring to the business.”

Family remains at the heart of Musketeer Solutions. With Kieran Parrish heading the company’s financial management, family ethos is a core aspect of how the business operates.

Musketeer’s culture of respect, collaboration and wellbeing fosters an environment where people are cared for, not just as employees, but as valued members of the extended Musketeer family.

Achievements and Impact

Among Musketeer’s proudest achievements are its contributions to ageing aircraft research and safety regulations through its work with dstl and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA).

These projects have delivered lasting benefits across MOD fleets and showcased Musketeer’s ability to deliver meaningful, long-term impact.

“All the Musketeers were involved in this work, so it was truly a team effort.”

Today, the company continues to ensure MOD aircraft remain safe, supported, and operationally effective — with the team particularly proud of its ongoing work in support of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Looking Ahead

The next 20 years promise continued growth and diversification, while remaining true to the founding spirit of integrity, service and care for people.

“We hope that Musketeer will thrive and continue to support the military and its other customers… and that the company supports its employees who continue to do meaningful work and gain satisfaction from so doing.”
